Ricettario: A Balanced Diet

This surreal food photography called by Ricettario: A Balanced Diet by Elena Mora and Karsten Wegener is just beautiful. The completely deconstructed recipes such as, minestrone soup and an apple cake, to show how the parts make the whole. WOW!

30 Days Worth of Juice

I found this 30 Days of Juicing post on the Williams-Sonoma blog. It has some fantastic recipes! Here are a couple of my favourites.

1. One apple, three beets, three large carrots, one inch of ginger, and a handful of kale.

2. Two cups of strawberries, one and a half beets, and two oranges.

3. Five carrots, two and a half apples, a half inch of ginger, and half of a lemon.

Do you juice?

Restaurant 13: Indian Fusion, The Curry House

Last night Brendan and I decided to try out this small Indian restaurant by my house called Indian Fusion, The Curry House. We were in for a surprise!

The food was fantastic (by far some of the best Indian I have had in Edmonton), and it was really reasonably priced. We ordered paneer makhni ($12.95), mixed vegetable curry ($10.95), some naan and saffron rice, along with a masala chai to drink. The whole meal (besides the naan for Brendan) was gluten free and vegetarian.

If you are looking for a good quality meal for a reasonable price definitely try out The Curry House.

My Life: Climbing Ha Ling Peak

Over the May long weekend I went to Canmore, Alberta with Brendan and a couple of friends. Our Saturday adventure turned out to be climbing the Ha Ling Peak (7900 feet up!) of Mount Lawrence Grassi. It took us about four hours round trip, not bad considering I thought it was going to be five! By the time we scrambled up to the top I was dead, but it was well worth the beautiful view of Canmore and the surrounding mountains. The only problem is ... now I have encouraged Brendan to climb more mountains!

Would you do it?
